Visit Norwich, Norfolk UK - A Stockist's Guide

First on our list of Salt-Water stockists we wanted to visit just had to be located in this gorgeous English city. Fun fact - Salt-Water’s founder, Walter Hoy, was a US immigrant originally from Norwich! Just under 2 hours from London by train, Norwich is a quaint cathedral city known for its independent boutiques and outdoor market.

Where better to get all of the local in-sights from than one of our very own stockists?

We loved paying Imelda's a visit. Imelda's is an independent shoe boutique and proud stockist of Salt-Water Sandals, nestled near Norwich’s Market Square. In celebration of Imelda's 30th birthday we had the pleasure of chatting with owner, Irene. Our conversation covered some of Norwich's hidden gems, the unique offerings of Imelda’s boutique and, naturally, Salt-Water Sandals.

Irene recently stated on her Instagram "Good shoes are like good friends. Always room for another one." And we couldn't agree more!

SWS: Tell us a bit about Imelda’s shoes – why did you open and what is your customer base like?

Irene: I set it up after I graduated in fashion management. Norwich was full of new independent shops. Most still running. My customers have grown with me so now it’s women who want comfortable every day footwear but must look good.

How long has Imelda’s stocked Salt-Water?

Irene: I have stocked Salt-Water for 9 years and our customers of all ages love the Classic and Original in all the colours. The introduction of the Boardwalk and Swimmer has brought new customers to the brand who needed a more cushioned sole.

SWS: What is your favourite Salt-Water colour and how would you style them?

Irene: Love the new colours of Stone and Paprika! I love to wear them with a coloured cropped trouser, a fresh glossy pedicure, and a simple Tee.

SWS: Where would be your favourite place to go for a walk in your Salt-Waters?

Irene: My favourite summer walk is the promenade in San Sebastián, in northern Spain. However staying local, my favourite walk in Norwich is the riverside walk taking in the Cathedral and Pull's ferry.

SWS: Where’s the best spot for coffee in Norwich?

Irene: Best coffee spot has to be Bread Source, both of their locations are great and a sweet treat might have to accompany.

SWS: Are there any hidden gems we need to visit in Norwich?

Irene: Plantation Garden is great hidden gem on a sunny day.

SWS: Lastly, where are you wearing your Salt-Waters to dinner in Norwich?

Irene: My favourite food spot if you can get in is XO Kitchen. Who knew whipped tofu could taste so good?
